Browser Tool
motionphoto.gallery
motionphoto.gallery focuses on a small but useful problem: many smartphone photos contain a short video sequence, but that moving part is not always easy to access afterwards. The project gives users a direct way to recover and save that clip.
The tool runs in the browser, which keeps the workflow simple. A motion photo can be opened, processed and exported without installing extra desktop software. For many users, that is the difference between a hidden feature they never use and a clip they can actually keep.
Local processing is an important part of the concept. Media files do not need to be uploaded to a remote service just to extract the embedded video. That makes the tool especially appealing for personal recordings that users would rather keep on their own machine.
Because the work happens inside the browser, large files can still be demanding on the device. But the tradeoff is a lightweight experience that removes the usual friction around motion-photo formats and makes the short video content much easier to reuse.
